The Auricchio company was founded in 1877 in San Giuseppe Vesuviano (NA). Founder Gennaro Auricchio invented the ‘special recipe’ or, as they used to say, the ‘secret of Don Gennaro’, which gives AURICCHIO provolone its unique flavour. Today at the helm of the Group are the three brothers Antonio, Giandomenico and Alberto Auricchio, whose commitment is to affirm the uniqueness of Made in Italy throughout the world. The historic company, world leader in the production of Provolone, is headed by a Group with eight units in Italy as well as two commercial branches in the USA and Spain and internationally renowned brands.
A wide range of cheeses produced with the passion, care and craftsmanship of those who, for over 140 years, have been signing with their name only the best of the Italian dairy tradition: from Mozzarella to Parmigiano Reggiano, from Taleggio to Quartirolo Lombardo, from Gorgonzola to Ricotta, from Pecorino Romano to Pecorino al Tartufo, as well as the ‘king’ of its production, Provolone Auricchio.
In Auricchio’s factories, artisanal production methods guaranteeing unique and traditional flavours are combined with state-of-the-art technology to ensure maximum hygiene and food safety. “Handmade. Always.” This is the perfect synthesis of the Auricchio company’s working style, faithfully committed to preserving traditions and keeping the promise of offering an artisan product of the highest quality.
The love for its products of the highest quality, the trust that customers place in the company and its brand, and the respect for consumers who have rewarded and are increasingly rewarding the company’s commitment to production and investment, must be resolutely defended. Auricchio has always been able to maintain a family-run business despite having reached a multinational configuration. Giovanni Ansaldo wrote in the ‘Borghese’ in 1950: ‘The real secret of Auricchio provolone is in the mentality, in the ancient custom, adapted to the times, but serenely defended…’.
