
Our story begins in 1966, with a social and cultural project aimed at supporting agriculture: three fruit and vegetable cooperatives in Emilia were founded. In 1972 the small consortium converted to industrial organisation and in the following years rapidly developed both in production capacity and product range, welcoming new cooperatives as members and laying the foundations for its national and international growth.
Today, Valfrutta’s strength is its social base: more than 14,000 farmers grouped in 51 cooperatives, with land in Italy, grow their fruit and vegetables in open fields using ‘integrated agriculture’ systems, an advanced ecological farming system that aims to minimise the use of chemical additives and to take into account people, values and respect for nature and its fruits.
All Valfrutta products are grown according to the rhythms of the seasons and are processed using only renewable energy. . We believe that human enthusiasm and technology are the perfect combination and this conviction is the result of combining tradition and the mission of a European brand in step with the times.
